Lasik Vision Correction Procedures

Myopia (Nearsightedness)

LASIK Procedure for Myopia

Myopia happens when the light rays
are focused in front of the retina
instead of directly on the retina.

   For treatment of nearsightedness, tissue
is removed from the center of the cornea
resulting in a flatter cornea surface

     Hyperopia (Farsightedness)

LASIK   Procedure for Hyperopia

  Hyperopia occurs when light rays
are not bent enough to properly
focus on the retina

In treatment of farsightedness, tissue
is removed from the peripheral cornea
resulting in a
 steeper center

LASIK Procedure for Astigmatism

Regular astigmatism occurs when
light rays are focused on
different points of the retina

To treat astigmatism, tissue is
removed in one direction more than the
other, making the cornea more spherical
