Jacqueline Deneen Griffiths, M.D.
Jacqueline Deneen Griffiths, M.D., earned her undergraduate degree at Yale and her medical degree from the University of Michigan. Her ophthalmology residency was completed at Georgetown University Medical Center.
Dr. Griffiths has been in private practice since 1994. She started her own practice, NewView® Eye Center, in 1999 where she serves as the Medical Director. NewView’s Mission is to provide excellence in ophthalmologic services by giving personalized attention to every patient.
Dr. Griffiths is board certified and began performing laser vision correction practically from its inception in this country. She has performed thousands of these procedures and participated with the CRS-USA LASIK trials to get the LASIK procedure approved by the FDA. NewView offers the FDA approved iDesign™ Advanced WaveScan treatment. The iDesign™ treatment can be performed with LASIK, PRK or EpiLase™ procedures.
In addition to offering laser vision correction, NewView offers laser-assisted cataract surgery, advanced technology IOLs, laser floater removal, comprehensive ophthalmology, eyelid surgery, BOTOX Cosmetic and facial fillers. NewView Optical provides the latest high quality, designer frames and lenses for the entire family (ages 5 and older). Her office accepts most medical and vision plans and offers affordable financing for elective procedures.
Dr. Griffiths is the current Ophthalmology Section Chief of Reston Hospital Department of Surgery, the former Chief of Ophthalmology at both the Reston Ambulatory Surgical Center in Reston, VA, as well as Loudoun Hospital in Leesburg, VA. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology, a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the Washington National Eye Center and other professional organizations.
Amy Lynn Nicholas, M.D.
Amy Lynn Nicholas, M.D., graduated summa cum laude from both Georgetown University and Georgetown University School of Medicine. She completed her ophthalmology residency at the Medstar Georgetown University Hospital/Medstar Washington Hospital Center combined program in Washington DC.
Dr. Nicholas is board certified and practices comprehensive ophthalmology with an emphasis in cataract surgery, glaucoma diagnosis and management, diabetic care and diseases of the ocular surface including pterygia and dry eye.
Dr. Nicholas is a diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology and a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. She has practiced in the Washington DC, Maryland and Virginia areas since 2013. Dr. Nicholas is an inductee of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.
Sara N. Bresnahan, O.D.
Sara N. Bresnahan, O.D., earned her undergraduate degree at Salve Regina University in Newport, RI, and her optometry degree from the New England College of Optometry, Boston, MA, in 2009 where she graduated with honors. Upon graduation, Dr. Bresnahan was commissioned into the United States Navy where she served as the Head Optometrist and Division Officer at the Kaneohe Bay Optometry Department. She also assisted as Adjunct Professor University of Missouri – St. Louis College of Optometry – providing clinical instruction, guidance and leadership to optometry students.
Dr. Bresnahan is certified by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry and was trained at the Naval Warrior Refractive Eye Surgical Program in San Diego. She has over 10 years of clinical experience in all phases of visual and medical eye care, with a particular interest in anterior segment and ocular surface disease. Upon leaving the Navy, Dr. Bresnahan had been in private practice in Washington State. She recently relocated to the metro DC area with her husband and daughter and joined the team at NewView in December 2017.
